It’s going fast in Russia. First, President Vladimir Putin announced that the country could invest in cryptocurrency – now the country’s finance minister comes up with another crypto-friendly proposal.

Must apply for licenses

On Wednesday, Anton Siluanov, as the finance minister is called, sent a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In this letter, the Minister of Finance proposes that crypto trading should be given legal status in Russia by allowing banks and other companies to apply for licenses to sell bitcoin, for example. The proposal would also mean that mining companies and foreign crypto exchanges can apply for similar licenses
